Cancer does not discriminate.  Cancer attacks your next door neighbor.  Cancer affects celebrities such as Lance Armstrong and Scott Hamilton.  Cancer can happen to you.  As we approach Father’s Day, June 19, Rocky Flats Gear would like to inform you of testicular cancer basics.  Testicular cancer forms inside a man’s testes, the gland that manufactures sperm and testosterone.  This form of cancer is the most common form in young men and is rarely fatal, as 95 percent cases can be cured.

There are two main types of testicular cancer:

• Seminomas, which grow slowly and respond better to radiation treatment
• Non-seminomas, which grow more quickly

Both types of testicular cancer are most often formed in the germ cells, which are the cells within the testicles that produce immature sperm.  Researchers still aren’t sure why this form of cancer occurs.

We do know mutagenic chemicals and radiation can cause cancer.

Even though there is no known cause, there is an association with an undescended testis and, in some cases, a family history of the disease.   We are told security radiation is NOT penetrating.  If this was the case, leg bone shadows would not be seen in the image below.  New security scanners deliver a significant dose of penetrating radiation to the body including prostrate [4], breast, ovaries and testicles.  

Estrogens in environment feminizes men.

Studies saying that BPA, the estrogen mimicker used in plastic bottles, does enter our bodies and is well known to feminizes men.[2]  Many public water supplies use recycled water containing excreted birth control and plasticizer or synthetic estrogens leached from plastics.

Fathers to be at Risk

We are concerned that honeymooners being irradiated just before and after starting a family would put the baby at risk of birth defects.

Early Detection and Prevention

As with women and self examination of their breasts, men should do a regular self exam of their testicles.  If a man feels something abnormal, such as a lump, he should see his doctor.  Some other signs or symptoms of testicular cancer include:

• Swelling of the testicles
• A general change in how they feel
• A dull ache in the lower abdomen or groin
• A build-up of fluid in the testicle or scrotum
• Pain or discomfort in and around the testicles

Removal of the cancerous testicle is the most common treatment.  Men with one testicle can still achieve erections and produce sperm.

Minimize your Risk

We at Rocky Flats Gear would like for all fathers to be around for a long time.  Does your father work with radiation or travel, why not give your dad a gift of love, a pair of our radiation blocking briefs or boxers. 

Get cancer perhaps receive no treatment no Job.

Years from now when God forbid you get cancer your out of work and the government is broke you will be given pain meds.   This is happening to more than 300 cancer patients being treated in South African hospitals according to the Cancer Association of Swaziland, (CANASWA), after the government could not meet their medical costs.[2] Or you can't get a job after being treated for cancer.[3]
