Colorado business woman Yukari Miyamae was arrested last week for reverse groping a TSA agent at Phoenix’s Sky Airport? She is currently facing felony charges of sexual abuse.

UPDATE: Felony groping charges have been dropped.

We are pleased that the felony charges have been dropped, all charges should be be dropped. 

Perhaps the prosecutor gave this more thought:

1) Would have a hard time getting a Jury to convict, better known as Jury Nullification.[2]

2) A pattern of selective prosecution would be revealed.

3) The woman has become a hero and would bring too much attention to his office.

4) Lack of TSA Jurisdiction at City/County Airports would be disclosed.

5) Disclosure the TSA screeners are NOT officers. (No oath of office or Bond posted) 

6) Disclosure that 4th amendment is dead?

7) Reveal that radiation emitting scanners are not as safe or effective as first thought.

Have you noticed that almost collectivity seems positively angry these days?  Frustration with the government, alphabet agencies and with many of the other major institutions in our society seems to grow by the day.  Congress has signal digit approval ratings a new ABC News/Washington Post poll, 80 percent of Americans say that they are either dissatisfied or displeased with the government.  People world wide are deeply divided about what the solutions to our problems are, but what almost everyone can agree on is that our problems are getting worse.  Watching all of the insanity that is going on in Europe, Middle East, Washington D.C. and in our state capitals is almost enough to drive anyone positively crazy.  The world is drowning in an ocean of debt, unemployment is rising at an shocking rate, thousands of stores are closing, poverty is exploding, greed and corruption is seemingly everywhere.  People are incredibly frustrated because the vast majority of “leaders” appear to be too incompetent or too corrupt to deal with our problems.

A reversal of screener and traveler

What is odd about this story is an nearly identical to an event that happened to a woman traveling with her family just a few weeks ago? We can only assume Ms. Miyamae knew the scanner is VERY revealing while also being a health risk[1].  She also was apparently not wanting her breast touched as a condition of travel. Perhaps she had a bad prior experience like Mrs. Miklus also at SkyHarbour just a few months or years earlier or is hyper-sensitive to radiation?  She said NO to having her Breasts touched earlier this spring (video below) and the TSA staff proceeded to touch over her objections WITH OUT HER PERMISSION.[2]  Mrs. Miklus called for law enforcement to protect her to no avail, appears citizens have fewer rights than the people who work for them?

People are FED up

We are seeing people pushing back, perhaps it is time to rethink loss of liberty for the small added "security" that the new procedures offer, before things get out of hand.    Some states like Texas moved to protect it's Citizens but got cold feet at the last minute after some Federal arm twisting.  States such as Utah, Idaho New Hampshire and others are considering 4th amendment protective legislation but will not be considered for some months.  It appears that people are doing that congress and state legislatures can't find find the spine to do.    

People have a basic right to protect his/her body

Every person has a right to protect body from violence with for example aggressive putdowns.  This would include not being touched with germ covered gloves, or forced to walk bare foot on filthy floors.  Your body is the ultimate property.

We and many health care professionals are concerned that repeated exposure to airport scanner radiation to young woman and children with the BRCA gene would be a cancer risk.  Airport scanner dose is closer to 1/50 to 1-20th of a chest x-ray a small dose but, yet significant to some.  As DNA damage is cumulative common sense would tell you that reducing your exposure during medical and security procedures would be prudent.  This the primary reason we at Rocky Flats Gear developed our line of protective products.
