Radiation is becoming more common in the environment and can be a significant risk to human health. Airline pilots, industrial, power and defense workers often operate in high radiation environments. Medical, dental, veterinary, chiropractic industrial and security imaging are using more radiographic techniques. Accidental and intentional releases of radiative materials is a increasing concern for many. Devices to warn and accurately quantify radiation dose rates and total exposure are needed.

Following the release of a May 2012 report, newspapers around the world advertised headlines announcing that the World Health Organization (WHO) assumes that Fukushima radiation emissions pose minimal health risk. Based on an assessment of published emissions of radioiodine and cesium up through September 2011, Japan’s nuclear meltdown poses no serious cancer risk, except for localized exposures around Fukushima prefecture, which may result in increased danger of thyroid cancer.

Big media, the president and Mr. Zuckermann, hyped the Face Book pubic offering, while the corporate media down plays the health risks of security scanners and promotes the questionable "security" benefits.

We are again assured by our friends at TSA and DHS that the scanners are “safe." 
To date, no independent party has confirmed the radiation intensity and body exposure number from this exotic imaging technology.  Many scientists, doctors and researchers from the fields of physics and medicine disagree with the asserted numbers.   Still, the actual measurements are classified and public reports have been heavily redacted for “National Security."  Odd thing national heath takes a back seat to for “National Security” and the governments need to peek without  a warrant.  How about making health security and body security a prority? 

At this year's super bowl an array of whole-body scanners, face scanner, long distance iris readers, metal detectors, truck x-ray and pat-downs will be deployed for 'security'.   Games in the past were used as test grounds for facial recognition scanners during the 2002 Tampa supper bowl. [1]  We can be assured a huge array of new Orwellian surveillance equipment we be deployed and tested on unsuspecting fans.

In a move placate public concerns Transportation Security Administration (TSA) said that it has begun installing "privacy" software.  To give passengers the false hope of more privacy when they're screened by some of the full-body inspecting machines at airport checkpoints.   Scanner privacy software a great public relations exercise however falls short.

The citizens of Texas are rightfully concerned about health, privacy and legal search issues created by invasive screening techniques at the airports. Texas the Lone Star State was considering a bill that would make a TSA pat-downs that involves touching “the anus, sexual organ, buttocks, or breast of another person, including through the clothing” a misdemeanor, allowing Texas law enforcement to arrest TSA staff and charge them with sexual harassment.

Tit For Tat: Woman Arrested For Groping TSA Agent Colorado business woman Yukari Miyamae was arrested last week for groping a TSA agent at Phoenix’s Sky Airport. She is currently facing felony charges onf sexual abuse.The police report states Miyamae touched the agent’s “left breast through her clothing…squeezing and twisting it with both hands without the victim’s permission.”

New evidence sugests that cancer clusters are developing around TSA  workers who work with the full body scanners. The Electronic Privacy  Information Center (EPIC) says they have evidence that the Department  of Homeland security failed to evaluate risk levels from airport body scanners. A study from the National Institute of Standards and  Technology warns TSA airport screeners to avoid standing next to the  body scanners.

Historic flooding crippled Nebraska Nuclear followed by a fire on June 7th, disabled critical cooling to pool storing highly radioactive spent fuel materials.  Like Fukushima loss of cooling exposed fuel rods allowing temperatures to reach thousands of degrees releasing a family of radioactive isotopes.  Adding water to hot fuel rods generates hydrogen gas that can be explosive.

Amputees worry about airport security screening health risk.  

People with prosthetic limbs complain about the CastScope, a screening device, that uses backscatter X-ray technology to identify security threats concealed in a prosthetic, cast or bandage. They are correctly concerned about radiation exposure, the length of time it takes to be screened and a lack of qualified personnel operating the devices.

We are told by TSA/DHS the x-ray radiation is not penetrating.  If just a few cm or about an inch into the body is not penetrating then this is true.   Or the dose is "insignificant", trust us.  DHS/TSA are security experts not physicists not surprising the statements are lacking and or misleading. 

Study Findings: Cancer Can Begin in Sudden Catastrophic Event
